Proof That The Schroth Method for Scoliosis Works | Colorado Scoliosis Specialist

At Denver Physical Medine, we recommend the Schroth Method for scoliosis because it works. Schroth Method for Scoliosis is the most  recommended and effective Scoliosis & HyperKyphosis treatment. Both of our Scoliosis clinicians are certified in Schroth method for Scoliosis and have 30 years of experience together in treating Scoliosis in Colorado.  Here are just a small sampling of evidence that supports that effectiveness of the Schroth Method for Scoliosis*

Patients Perceive Positive Change Regardless of Cobb Angle Measurements

Even in cases where the Cobb angle of the spine did not improve beyond 5 degrees, many patients perceived a positive change in their backs. Because Schroth exercises are intended to improve postural balance and alleviate the symptoms of scoliosis, it is likely that they lead to improvements that are not linked to the Cobb angle.

Number of Patients That Need to Be Treated

Short-term Schroth PSSE intervention along with standard care is much more beneficial than standard care alone. In order for the additional benefit of 6 months of Schroth treatment to be seen in at least one patient, four patients require treatment.

The Schroth Method Decreases Curve Severity

When added to standard care, Schroth exercises do a better job of decreasing curve severity in AIS patients.

Schroth Reduces Pain & Improves Quality of Life

When performed along with standard care, Schroth exercises decrease SRS-22r pain and improve self-image scores and BME.
